InDash Metal Thickness
Competitive Analysis

As a industry standard, PanaVise and our competitors use 16 gauge steel. PanaVise also makes mounts in 13 gauge and 14 gauge steel.
Gauge is a standard used in the metal forming industry to determine the thickness of sheet steel. The lower the number, the thicker the material. 16 gauge steel by industry specifications (1) should be .0598 inches thick. The tolerance of this material per industry Standards is plus .010, minus .000. Meaning the material could vary from 59 thousandths to 69 thousandths of an inch in thickness. We do comparison testing and can prove that PanaVise InDash mounts are just as thick as the competitors no matter what they say.
