The PanaVise Heavy Duty Vise Head and Base are perfect for working on heavier objects such as small engines like those used on lawn mowers, electrical motors, wood carving and even chiseling. The Heavy Duty Base provides all the "Tilt, Turn, and Rotate." found in the 300 series, but with extra holding power. The Heavy Duty Head provides an exceptional work platform.

The shaft diameter of the 400 series is 1 inch (25.4mm). The locking mechanism comes assembled with a racheting interlocking mechanism for the weight supporting tilt. The base can be disasembled and the inner half balls reversed to provide the same smoother tilt locking mechanism found in the smaller 300 series bases. Of course in this configuration the weight holding capacity is reduced. The Heavy Duty Base also includes two different security features for locking the shaft to the base. One is a provision for a 1/4" flat head screw to be used from the bottom of the base up through and into the shaft. The other is an under cut at the bottom of the shaft socket and requires disassembly and the inner half balls have to be assembled over the shaft.
